Information You Submit
Search forms send the name, telephone number, or address you enter to the outside provider that supplies the results. Hickory People Search does not retain a server-side copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the details in your message and use them to answer the request.
Information Collected Automatically
Standard server logs may record an IP address, browser type, visited pages, and timestamps. We review that information in aggregate to maintain the service and learn which resources are useful. Cookies or similar tools may support basic traffic analytics and advertising measurement where used.
How Data Is Used
These limited data help operate the service, diagnose errors, count visits, and improve content. We do not sell visitor lists or assemble individual user profiles.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links lead to city, county, and state portals, library collections, and outside search services. Each destination controls its own privacy terms. Information entered after leaving Hickory People Search is handled under that destination's policy. The same rule applies to sponsored search results provided by another company.
Parties That Process Data
Hosting and support vendors may process server logs for us. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the automatic information described above. Data may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it. We do not otherwise distribute visitor information.
Security and Retention
An encrypted connection protects data in transit. Server logs are kept only for the period needed for operations and the uses listed above. Because there are no user accounts, Hickory People Search stores no account password or member profile.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. Contact us if a minor appears to have submitted such information so it can be deleted.
Your Privacy Choices
Rights to access, correct, or delete website-held personal data depend on where a visitor lives. The project research did not verify a comprehensive North Carolina consumer privacy or data-broker deletion statute comparable to a universal state opt-out. We can search our contact mailbox and available logs for data tied to a request. Use the Contact page to ask.
Hickory, Catawba County, and North Carolina public records are outside our control. Send corrections to the custodian. North Carolina G.S. 132-1.10 provides a specific signed, no-fee process to request redaction of listed government and financial identifiers from certain public document images. It is not a general right to erase a public record.
Policy Revisions
A revised policy will be posted here when these practices change. Continued use after the revision is posted indicates acceptance of the new terms.
